Socialize and talk in a secure mode with people who share your interests. No more prying eyes on your conversations. Talk Freely, Protect Your Privacy.
SHADO is the only free instant messaging Android app that protects both your conversations and your privacy.
In an age where every word or photo you share leaves a trail on the World Wide Web which affects your public image, SHADO gives you the opportunity to talk about certain topics, to reveal secrets or share strictly confidential information without fear of being tracked and your reputation tarnished.
Messages and snapshots aren't stored and they self-delete after a timeout established by you. No one can steal or track your data, neither spyware nor evil third party apps.
SHADO uses a new open encryption protocol for safeguarding real-time communications by making all messages and photos unreadable before sending them over the network. This makes SHADO a secure digital space where you can talk with everyone freely.
SHADO is also a social app focused on conversation topics and with a useful discovery function which makes it easier for you to meet new people who share your same interests while keeping trolls away.
Messages and pictures you send are encrypted by a secure algorithm. They aren't stored on your smartphone nor on our servers and they self-delete after a timeout, which you decide.
Photos aren't available to malicious third-party apps, since they are deleted soon after being sent.
Your real identity is inviolable. We don't read your phone number nor your phone book. You choose who you want to be with your username.
If your smartphone wakes up from stand-by mode your conversations and photos are masked so that you are the only one who can reveal them.
You can create private chats on certain topics, or you can make them public and allow anyone to join the conversation.
You can meet new people through the topic-based Chat Roulette. So that users are aware of the conversation topic before talking to you, avoiding any bad surprise.
You can check users stats to talk to people who share your interests and keep trolls away.
You can send messages and pictures with no limitations.
You are instantly notified about new messages you receive with push notifications.
You can customize both your avatar and the app graphic style choosing one of many masks and themes inspired by the Venetian Baroque.
No Advertising. Zero. Nada.
After years of media exposure of people's private lives on social networks, a strong demand for strict confidence and recovery of a private space for interpersonal communication is emerging.
In addition, recent scandals about government agencies wiretapping internet users’ communications and social networks with no scruples using online targeted marketing, have highlighted the poor protection available to users of instant messaging apps on smartphones and tablets.
SHADO was born to satisfy the need to safeguard online identity and conversation privacy expressed by internet users who talk on the web using instant messaging apps on Android smartphones and tablets.
SHADO is a FREE messaging app that unlike similar apps, PROTECTS YOUR PRIVACY. Confidentiality and anonymity of your conversations is our primary objective. By using a new open encryption protocol for safeguarding real-time communications over the World Wide Web, all messages and photos are obfuscated before being sent on internet. This makes SHADO a secure digital space in which users can talk freely. Moreover, messages and snapshots aren't stored on the user's smartphone nor on Keganzo's servers and they self-delete after a timeout established by the user. SHADO is a social app focused on conversation topics making it simpler for users to meet new people who share the same interests. In an age where every word or photo you share leaves a trail on the World Wide Web which affects your public image, SHADO gives you the opportunity to talk about certain topics, to reveal secrets or share strictly confidential information without fear of being tracked and your reputation tarnished.
Recent scandals about government agencies wiretapping Internet users' communications have highlighted the poor protection available to users of instant messaging on smartphones and tablets. Moreover, after years of media exposure of people's private lives on social networks, a strong demand for strict confidence and recovery of a private space for interpersonal communication is emerging. SHADO was developed to satisfy the need to safeguard online privacy.
Each time you login, SHADO negotiates with the server random numerical streams that will be used to generate unique keystreams for encrypting messages repeatedly. It's done by means of the well-known Diffie-Helmann Key Exchange method enforced with an Elgamal Authentication method, which secures the exchange from the Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks. This means that each session is unique, in other words, SHADO implements an encryption system which is near to accomplish perfect forward secrecy, which makes it less prone to decryption from hackers. The whole mechanism is obviously more complex than this, but if you're interested you can take a look at the SHADO encryption protocol.
We felt a bit paranoid about standard encryption algorithms, as backdoors were found in popular ones like RSA . We needed something simple to handle, quick to process information, and able to detect tampering attempts too. Shannon proved that it isn't necessary to have a complicated algorithm for perfect forward secrecy, but the current trend in secure procotols development takes the opposite approach. We simply looked back at the origins of cryptography.
SHADO can protect you in several ways. Strong and fast encryption of your messages and snapshots is the main way but not the only one. For example, you can set a password to mask messages when returning from the device stand-by, or you can set an interval for checking that it's really you who's using SHADO. In this sense, unlike Telegram, it can protect you from your mother or any other person that has physical access to your smartphone.
SHADO makes use of an automatic reputation system that is visible to other app users showing how many times you have been blocked by other users. So, if you are a typical troll , it would be clear to anyone reading your public profile on SHADO and it's unlikely that you'll be invited to join any more private chats. Obviously your real identity is kept secret, but in this way we can limit potential troublemakers, which are quite common in any digital conversation space.
SHADO doesn't save your conversations and exchanged data; It's completely secure. All messages and pictures are kept for the time they need to be forwarded to receivers, then they're deleted forever. To paraphrase an old Roman proverb: Scripta volant, verba manent. We are not interested in your conversations and also the users' stats are automatically processed by the system as it goes. Stats can be an effective way to find people who share the same interests and to keep away trolls.
Like Telegram, your messages and snapshots are quickly and heavily encrypted. We've developed a new open protocol for encrypting real-time communications over an insecure channel as the World Wide Web is. However, unlike Telegram and the other instant messaging apps, SHADO protect both your messages AND your identity. No one else takes care of your privacy. We do. We don't read your phone number nor your phone book. You choose who you want to be with your username. Moreover, SHADO is different from other instant messaging apps because it doesn't use any third-party apps to take snapshots. SHADO has full control of the camera function so users don't run the risk of having unwanted copies of their photos in a public directory, available to malicious apps. In addition, each snapshot is deleted immediately after being sent. No app is as secure as SHADO.
